Sabelor Cultural Group successfully wrapped up its week-long music and dance workshop in Agona Swedru, Central Region, last week. The training program, designed for selected up-and-coming cultural groups, was made possible through a sponsorship grant aimed at supporting and nurturing emerging talent in Ghana’s cultural arts scene.
Over the years, Sabelor Cultural Group has played a pivotal role in imparting its vast knowledge of Ghanaian cultural music and dance to enthusiastic young performers across various regions. As part of this initiative, workshop participants engaged in hands-on sessions focused on contemporary dance production while learning techniques to adapt and innovate traditional dance forms and patterns.
Drummers from the participating groups were also introduced to diverse Ghanaian rhythms and guided on how to skillfully blend them to create new, dynamic musical expressions. The workshop fostered creativity while preserving the authenticity of Ghana’s musical heritage.
Participants expressed deep gratitude to the sponsors for their support and commended Sabelor Cultural Group for its unwavering dedication to preserving Ghanaian culture and ensuring its relevance in modern times. They also encouraged young people to embrace and celebrate their cultural roots.
With a strong track record of performances and workshops across the nation, Sabelor Cultural Group continues to be a driving force in the promotion and preservation of Ghanaian traditional music and dance.
