Led by Comfort Amoah and Ebenezer Sarpong, Manklalo Cultural Group has earned critical acclaim for its authentic performances and cultural preservation efforts. The group sees this concert as not only a platform to give back to society, but also an opportunity to thank their fans for their unwavering support following their recent accolades.
In a statement, members of the group emphasized that traditional cultural music and dance serve a greater purpose beyond entertainment. “Cultural expression is a powerful tool for education, social unity, and national development,” a representative noted. “Unlike foreign music, our traditions are accessible, meaningful, and can be performed in all settings—bringing people together and passing on values through rhythm and movement.”
The group also voiced concerns about the growing dominance of foreign music and dance, which they believe is eclipsing Ghana’s rich cultural heritage. They called on cultural stakeholders, educators, and the media to unite in reviving and promoting Ghanaian music and traditions, ensuring they remain at the forefront of national identity.
The “Celebrating Ghanaian Music & Culture” concert is expected to be a landmark event, blending entertainment with purpose, and showcasing the vibrant spirit of Ghana through drumbeats, dance, and storytelling—all for a noble cause.
