Ghanaian Highlife Musician, Producer and Board Chairman for Ghana Music Right Organization (GHAMRO) has asked all upcoming musicians to disregard any news about having a full album before they can become a member of (GHAMRO).
He made this statement at the just-ended VGMA23 National Music Summit on 21 June 2022 at LA PALM ROYAL BEACH HOTEL.
This comes after an upcoming artist who had the chance to witness the occasion asked him whether or not it’s a must for you to at least release one album before you can become a member of the Ghana Music Right Organization (GHAMRO).” You don’t need to have an album before you can become a member of (GHAMRO), you see most people don’t know that you only become a member of (GHAMRO) when you release a single and it’s been played on a radio station for more than six months. He said the only way they (GHAMRO) could get money is when the music is been used”.
At present on the occasion was REX OMAR – Board Chairman GHAMRO, FRANCIS DOKU. General Manager, 3 group Media General Group, George Britton. C.E.O GB Records, KOFI BEATMANANCE. Record Producer and Creative Entrepreneur, KAYWA. C.E.O Highly Spiritual Music, RICHIE MENSAH. C.E.O Lynx Entertainment and Hon. MARK OKRAKU MANTEY. Dep. Minister, Tourism, ARTS and Culture.
