Ghanaian Afrobeat singer Mannan Odoi popularly known as Young Ogboo is back with an exclusive banger he calls ‘Ewoo produced by Beat Monsta.
The talented singer was formerly known as Dj Young and has released awesome songs like “Love Over Money” (My Personal Favorite), “Angua Mu“, “Streets Of Alajo” and many others.
The gifted Afrobeat singer has decided to re-brand with the name Young Ogboo since his previous name did not really define who he is in the music scene. One thing I have noticed about the fast-rising singer is, that he sings right from his heart! With no doubt, he is ready to glow in the Ghanaian music circle.
This song expresses the love and beauty in celebrating their dear culture called “Homowo” which is an annual festival that is celebrated every year in the Ga community. The homowo festival of the Ga tribe is believed to have a lineage from the Jewish tribe and its ancestral tradition of the Jewish Passover feast. Some of the towns that celebrate Homowo are La, Teshie, Nungua, Osu, Ga-Mashie, and Tema among others.
When ask the motive behind this classic song he said, “You Know it been a while since we celebrated Homowo festival and so last year I had the privilege to perform during the festive but never heard anyone making noise about it so when I pull up to sing melodies to the song people love it and motivated me to work on it, so I practically did this song to let Ghana and Africa know that Ga’s Homowo festival is a beautiful event everybody needs to come and experience”, we are one people let come together and celebrate with love and happiness.
He also fumed that he featured “Broken Heart” hitmaker Nii Funny because he’s from the same tribe as he and the best to tell more about their dear culture since he has a lot of experience in the Ga community.
Young Ogboo after his “Ewoo” song which he just released, has another released song like “Don’t Give Up” (remix) featuring KayBlez and others which were all released in 2022 this year.
