Lydia Forson Take On The 3-Days Fasting Mandated By The Church Of Pentecost To Rescue The Economy

Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson shared her views on the three-day fasting assigned by the Church of Pentecost as a measure of an economic turnaround.

In a Twitter thread, Ms Forson called religious bodies hypocrites, accusing them of not making use of their religious powers rightly but to fund their own agendas.

“Imagine the church actually took a position to HOLD government accountable beyond prayers. Imagine the church used its power/influence to get our government to do right by its people. Instead, the church (most) uses its position to only advance itself and its agenda. Shame.”

Lydia Forson also charged the clergy to do more than send prayers. She urged them to take a stand against the injustice being perpetuated against their congregation.

“Imagine Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. asking black people to fast and pray for 3 days to end discrimination and not speaking against the injustices people of colour were facing. Prayers, yes, but action too.”
