Award-winning and celebrated Afrobeats icon Davido is set to shut down the United States of America with his ‘Timeless’ vibes with a spectacular performance.
Davido will play at the “Juneteenth: Global Celebration for Freedom” concert, which will take place at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on June 19, 2023, alongside other well-known artists like Miguel, Jodeci, Coi Leray, and many others. The event is being held to commemorate “Juneteenth,” a national holiday in the United States that marks the abolition of slavery in the country. Live Nation Urban and Jesse Collins Entertainment are producing it.
The concert, which debuted in 2022, is expected to return bigger and better, with CNN serving as a broadcast sponsor. In a message he made to this effect on his social media platform, Davido announced his participation in the show.
OBO will be performing alongside Miguel, Kirk Franklin, Joedci, SWV, Coi Leray etc. The evening’s musical directors will also include Oscar-winning filmmaker Questlove and The Roots co-founder Adam Blackstone, who have won Grammy and Emmy Awards. The eagerly awaited event, which debuted the previous year, is back with CNN as a broadcast partner and the renowned Greek Theatre as the setting for an all-encompassing musical and cultural experience.
The Greek Theatre is one of the country’s most cherished outdoor entertainment venues. On its 158th anniversary, the networks will air content to inspire and inform audiences about Juneteenth. On Monday, June 19 at 8 pm ET, Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom will air on all CNN platforms on OWN nationally with unique pre-show programming on CNN.
