Central Region musicians are paid 2000ghc for shows — Rapper

Okintoe, one of the most renowned rappers in the Central Region, has detailed the problems that occurred during the Central Music Awards.

According to the rapper, Central Region musicians are paid 2000ghc for performances such as the just concluded Central Music Awards. Meanwhile, artists from other places are compensated well.

Rapper Okintoe expressed his displeasure with the Central Music Awards and the mistreatment of Cape Coast-based musicals in a recent interview with Kofy Jesse TV.

The musician said that the just concluded awards show was badly organised, resulting in a terrible experience for performers.

Furthermore, the musician said that there were inequalities in pay for artists, with some earning substantially more than others. This raises issues about the music industry’s fairness and openness.

The music industry is built on the talents and hard work of its performers. As such, it’s crucial that they are treated with respect and fairness. By promoting transparency and accountability, we can work towards creating a more equitable and supportive music industry.”
