RnB singer Angie Stone dead in car accident

Diamond Stone, her daughter, has confirmed that veteran RnB singer Angie Stone passed away at the age of 63 following a car accident in Alabama. Diamond wrote on Facebook, “My mommy is gone.” Per media reports, Stone was fatally injured when a van she was traveling in somersaulted early Saturday after a live performance.

The veteran musician, whose hits include Wish I Didn’t Miss You and No More Rain (In This Cloud), received three Grammy nominations throughout her career.

She started her musical journey in the 1970s as a member of the female hip-hop trio The Sequence, best known for their song Funk You Up, which peaked at 15 on Billboard’s Hot Soul Singles chart.
