Ghanaian rap-star Medikal has had his Twitter account suspended by Twitter for allegedly impersonating the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo.
This apparently happened after a netizen on the platform jokingly reported him for impersonating the president.
Subsequently, Medikal replaced his profile photo with the photograph of President Nana Akufo Addo. He also changed his username to ‘Mr President’ and failed to state that it is a parody account and not affiliated with the Ghanaian president.
Beno Sarkcess, a very popular head on Twitter tagged Elon Musk with the tweet:
Hi @elonmusk kindly check @AmgMedikal’s account
He’s trying to impersonate the president of Ghana— Beno SarkCess (@BenopaOnyx1) November 8, 2022
“Hi @elonmusk Kindly check @AmgMedikal’s account, he is trying to impersonate the president of Ghana.”
This was after Elon shared a caution about impersonating anyone on Twitter:
Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended

Our checks confirm that Medikal’s Twitter account has been suspended. However, we cannot tell if the suspension is permanent or not. But Elon Musk says culprit accounts will be permanently suspended.
